Best 2026 TV Shows for Dad-friendly viewing
The series is specifically recommended as the kind of history-rich documentary one reviewer’s father would love.
Pros: theme depth, modern political framing
Cons: episode length, episode pacing
The familiar mix of independent heroics, humor and weekly cases earns an enthusiastic endorsement as dad TV.
Pros: story quality, episode structure
Cons: character development, professional life portrayal
The political and bureaucratic intrigue can appeal to fans of older-school espionage, but reducing the sophisticated character drama to a “dad show” misses its nuance.
Pros: acting performance, story quality
Cons: originality, episode pacing
The tough-guy dialogue and familiar military-thriller conventions suit its meat-and-potatoes appeal. Tension and momentum matter more here than literary sophistication.
Pros: action sequence quality, character development
Cons: season pacing, originality
