The robot is low in height, but the dock and overall footprint were still called space-hungry.

The dock was praised as a brilliant use of space despite its unusual vertical form.

Odor control evidence was positive where the hot-air drying cycle was described as preventing mop-pad odors.

Odor control had a maintenance caveat because residual dirty water could smell if the robot was not used daily.

Residue and streaking were mixed, with reports of sticky residue, spread flecks, or round mop tracks after some tests.

Streaking and residue control were major strengths, especially compared with spinning-pad systems.

Maintenance requirements were reduced by the dock in one review, though mop pads, bags, filters, and cleaning still require attention.

Maintenance was not fully hands-off because tanks, filters, and dirty-water parts still needed recurring attention.

Emptying and mess control were mixed because the dock emptied debris but the process was described as noisy.

Emptying and mess control were strong, with the dock completely emptying the dust bin in testing.

Wet-spill handling was a standout in some tests, but one reviewer warned against large wet spills because there is no mop-only mode.

The liquid system was capable but not complete, with reviewers noting the lack of detergent as a drawback.

The detergent/liquid system was praised for removing the guesswork from premixing solution.

Stuck resistance was strong in several tests, with reviewers noting that it navigated without getting stuck or recovered well.

Stuck resistance was mixed: the low-profile design helped avoid getting stuck, but longer pile rugs caused at least one issue.

Area rug handling was a standout strength in TechRadar's testing, especially for thick rugs and raised thresholds.

Pet-readiness was supported by object avoidance around dog waste, though separate carpet hair pickup evidence was weaker.

Maneuverability was a strength, with praise for raised thresholds, thick rugs, and careful movement through challenging spaces.

Furniture navigation and maneuverability drew strong praise, including avoiding contact and understanding tight spaces well.

Innovation was a standout theme because the low-profile StarSight/ToF navigation was repeatedly described as new, effective, and competitive.

Reviewers repeatedly framed the S1 Pro as innovative because of its roller mop, low-profile navigation, and distinctive dock design.

Hard-floor hair pickup was strong in the Trusted Reviews test, with complete pickup and no tangling.

Hard-floor pet-hair and debris pickup was described as effective in a flagship comparison.

Under-furniture pickup was one of the clearest strengths because the low body reached areas taller robots could not.

The lower-profile design helped the robot reach under more furniture.

Mapping and path efficiency were usually strong, including fast mapping, careful navigation, and efficient room coverage.

Mapping and path efficiency were praised for coverage, easy map editing, and reliable room division.

The internal bin was repeatedly criticized as small, even though the auto-empty dock reduces how often users touch it.

The onboard dust bin was viewed as somewhat small.

Overall opinion was positive across most reviews, with several reviewers calling it impressive, flexible, or a strong all-rounder.

Overall sentiment was very positive for mopping, design, navigation, and hard floors, with recurring caveats around carpet and edge performance.

Fine dust pickup on hard floors was generally strong, with several reviewers reporting excellent flour or fine-debris collection.

Hard-floor fine pickup was praised as excellent in at least one comparison review.

Clogging prevention was mixed because one review saw small debris clogging the robot despite other hair-wrap strengths.

Clogging was a caveat in a stress test where the S1 Pro was the only unit to clog at an extreme fluff load.

Crevice pickup was above average in the Vacuum Wars testing evidence.

Crevice and groove cleaning was positive overall, especially in plank joints, though one test called it only decent.

Edge and baseboard cleaning were praised because the extending brush and mop helped reach walls, plinths, and room edges.

Edge and baseboard mopping was a weak spot, with multiple reviewers noting it did not clean right up to baseboards or walls.

Corner cleaning was consistently praised thanks to the extending side brush and mop arm.

Corner cleaning was mixed: the square shape helped in theory, but cautious navigation and missed areas limited results.

Dock noise was acceptable in one review, with mop washing described as unobtrusive.

Dock drying noise was noticeable, especially when the roller rotated during drying.

Noise was usually considered quiet or acceptable, with mopping and normal operation easier to live with than louder vacuum or dock cycles.

Noise was described as roughly average in one dock/vacuum sound test rather than unusually quiet or unusually loud.

Mopping performance was generally good to excellent for maintenance and many stains, but tougher messes sometimes required extra passes.

Mopping performance was the strongest consensus positive, with multiple reviewers calling it best-in-class or top-tier.

The self-cleaning cycle and dock cleaning features were praised for keeping the dock or mop system cleaner with less manual work.

The self-cleaning cycle impressed in dock washing tests and left the roller looking clean.
