Compare Eufy Video Doorbell Dual Camera S330 vs Google Nest Doorbell (Wired, 3rd Gen)

Ongoing costs were one of the strongest positives because reviewers repeatedly valued no required monthly fee or subscription paywall.

Ownership costs were the biggest value tension: several reviewers disliked the monthly pricing, while one found premium worthwhile for serious monitoring.

General reliability was praised in long-term and hands-on use, especially compared with prior solutions, though not every feature was flawless.

General reliability was mostly good, but one reviewer noted that missed clips can happen occasionally, making paid continuous recording safer.

Upgrade evidence was positive from both Eufy and prior-doorbell perspectives, especially for pre-recording, video quality, and responsiveness.

Upgrade value was positive, especially from older wired or battery Nest models, due to easier installation, wider framing, and sharper video.

Installation was often described as easy, but experiences varied because one review found setup long and frustrating and another disliked the bracket.

Installation was widely praised, especially the guided app setup, included hardware, easy wiring, and fast upgrade path from the prior wired model.

Value was generally positive despite the high upfront price, because reviewers saw savings from local storage and a strong feature set.

Value depended heavily on use case; reviewers liked the hardware and upgrade value but warned subscriptions and ecosystem needs affect the calculation.

Reviewers strongly agreed that avoiding mandatory subscription fees is a major benefit of this doorbell.

Subscription sentiment was mixed to negative: premium features can be powerful, but reviewers repeatedly called the paid tiers expensive or confusing.

Storage was a major strength, with reviewers praising local storage capacity, long clip retention, and no cloud requirement.

Storage was a clear tradeoff: the free cloud tier helped, but no local storage and short free history frustrated reviewers.

Recording earned positive evidence from pre-recording, long clip access, and package-approach footage.

Recording was a mixed area: free event clips were better than some rivals, but short history and premium dependence remained major caveats.

System completeness had limited but positive evidence from one reviewer who called it a more complete kit.

System completeness was split: the doorbell itself felt complete, but Google’s wider security ecosystem was criticized as incomplete.

Automation evidence was limited and conditional, with one reviewer noting reactions depend on using other Eufy products.

Automation evidence was limited but positive, with one reviewer saying a motion-triggered Google automation worked perfectly.

Night vision was the clearest split: some reviewers found usable or strong night footage, while others called it weak, especially beyond close range.

Low-light and night footage drew strong praise, especially for clearer faces, crisp black-and-white infrared footage, and improved low-light performance.

Object, person, and package detection were generally strong, with reviewers praising accurate box detection, fewer false alerts, and useful AI filtering.

Object and person detection was useful but imperfect: reviewers praised package, person, and face-related detection while noting pet misidentifications.

Lag was a repeated caveat, especially for live view, audio conversations, and intervening during fast porch-piracy scenarios.

Latency was mostly good, with fast live view, quick doorbell display, and near-instant notifications, though event logs or phone alerts could lag.

AI features were generally praised for identifying people, faces, packages, and reducing false alerts, though some sensitivity tuning remained necessary.

Gemini and AI features impressed several reviewers with summaries, searches, and detailed descriptions, but others found misidentifications and subscription dependence.

The chime setup was a strength when using the included base station or compatible assistants, though one wired-version reviewer disliked losing the existing chime.

Chime support was mixed: it can work through existing chimes or Google speakers, but users without compatible chimes may need alternatives.

Motion detection ranged from accurate and reliable in several tests to temperamental or overly active in busier locations.

Motion detection was generally fast and useful, with reviewers citing swift alerts, more captured events, and strong overnight or street-level pickup.

Quick replies and voice responses were useful for deliveries, but one reviewer found package-response behavior not fully reliable yet.

Quick replies were useful for simple interactions, but reviewers criticized the lack of custom canned messages.

Zones were useful for reducing unwanted alerts and tailoring detection around roads or specific camera areas.

Activity zones were treated as useful for narrowing alerts and deciding which parts of the frame should trigger notifications.

Power flexibility was positive overall, with reviewers valuing battery and wired options plus useful power diagnostics.

Power compatibility was generally manageable with proper wiring or a power adapter, though transformer and wire requirements can complicate installation.

Peace-of-mind evidence centered on package protection, delivery confidence, and knowing what happened at the door.

Reviewers linked the device to home security and confidence, especially when premium recording made it easier to see what happened.

Pre-roll evidence came from the wired review, where the reviewer valued capturing the start of motion events.

Pre-roll evidence was positive but limited, with one reviewer saying the camera captured a bit before and after events.

Security ecosystem integration was a weak spot for one reviewer, who disliked managing a hodgepodge of home-security apps.

Security ecosystem integration was a weakness because reviewers noted Google no longer offers a comprehensive security system around the doorbell.

Weather durability received positive evidence, with reviewers reporting normal operation through rain and noting resistance to inclement conditions.

Weather tolerance was viewed positively, with the IP65 design and heavy-rain durability considered adequate for most outdoor conditions.

Reviewers liked that the dual-feed approach can reduce fisheye warping, though TechRadar still noticed a slight fisheye effect from the main camera.

Lens distortion was treated as a manageable tradeoff: reviewers noticed slight barrel or fisheye distortion but accepted it for the broader view.

Package monitoring was the product’s clearest strength, with reviewers praising the downward camera, delivery guard, and package detection despite occasional misses.

Package monitoring worked well in positive tests, including accurate package callouts and rich package-delivery notifications.

Most reviewers recommended or positively framed the doorbell, while still noting fit depends on package needs, budget, size, and lag tolerance.

Most reviewers recommended it for Google-centered buyers or those wanting a strong doorbell, while one limited praise to Google Home users.

The dual-camera framing earned strong praise for seeing both visitors and doorstep packages, with reviewers noting generous coverage and fewer blind spots.

The square framing and wide field of view were repeatedly praised for showing visitors, packages, porch areas, and more of the entryway.

Box contents and packaging received positive comments, with reviewers liking the included hardware and clear placement of needed parts.

The included kit was praised as complete, with the needed mounting parts, connectors, wedge, hardware, and instructions in the box.

Reviewers usually praised video clarity, especially 2K daytime detail and color, though one CNET-style test found sharpness less impressive than expected in some clips.

Reviewers consistently found the 2K video sharp, crisp, colorful, and detailed, though one comparison noted higher-resolution 4K competitors exist.

Face recognition worked well in several reviews, but one reviewer found tagging faces unreliable without good lighting.

Face recognition improved over earlier models and often worked well, but some reviewers still saw misses or limits with covered faces.

Hub integration was useful for storage and chimes, but setup and router requirements frustrated at least one reviewer.

Nest Hub integration was considered cool and useful, though one reviewer found the Nest Hub interface itself sluggish.

Size and form factor were recurring drawbacks, with multiple reviewers describing the doorbell as large, bulky, or not especially compact.

The form factor was praised for upgrade continuity and smaller size, especially when moving from battery-powered Nest hardware.

Design was mixed: reviewers liked the sleek, modern look but also called the device large, hefty, or intimidating.

Design was a standout, with reviewers calling it modern, premium, symmetrical, and among the nicest-looking video doorbells.

Alexa and Google support were useful, especially for chimes and live view, but reviewers repeatedly noted missing HomeKit or IFTTT support.

Google ecosystem integration was a major strength, while Alexa support was basic and Apple HomeKit or broader platform support remained a limitation.

The app was often praised as smooth, clear, and easy to navigate, though one wired-version review called out firmware bugs.

The Google Home app earned praise for clean controls, fast live view, excellent setup guidance, and deep integration.

Notification performance varied widely, from instant or quick alerts in some reviews to slow or excessive alerts in others.

Notifications were often fast and rich, but usefulness depended on subscriptions for enhanced previews, and one test found a delay longer than desired.

Battery impressions were mixed: reviewers liked better-than-expected battery life, but also disliked removal downtime during charging.

The wired design avoids charging hassles, but the lack of a battery is a limitation for homes without suitable wiring.

Audio was generally understandable and clear, but some reviewers reported low phone volume, tinny playback, or lag during two-way conversations.

Two-way audio was judged reliable and clear, with good noise cancellation and enough sound quality for practical conversations.

The Linen colorway received positive attention for looking sophisticated against home exteriors.

One reviewer criticized law-enforcement policy language as vague, even while seeing local storage as a privacy improvement.

Light adjustability evidence was limited to one criticism that the bottom LEDs could not be turned off.

Personalization was praised where reviewers could tune notifications, response behavior, and app behavior to fit different use cases.

Privacy was viewed positively because local storage reduced reliance on cloud footage, though policy language remained a caveat elsewhere.

Quiet time was treated as a useful convenience, especially for muting rings during naps or other interruptions.

Tamper evidence was mixed: some tests found the doorbell hard to pull off, while others worried about a plastic bracket or footage loss if stolen.

Controls had one usability caveat: a reviewer found that visitors sometimes pressed the lens instead of the doorbell button.

Phone-call-style alerting worked well for one reviewer, who found the delay reasonable enough for visitors to still be waiting.

Wi-Fi evidence was limited but negative, with one roundup warning that the doorbell stops working if Wi-Fi cuts out.
