Compare Dyson Big Ball Multi Floor Canister Vacuum vs Miele C2 Canister Vacuum

Ease of use is a broad strength across reviews, though it coexists with canister handling and weight caveats.

Ease of use was praised across cleaning, controls, tubing, and supplied tools, with reviewers calling the vacuum user-friendly.

Large debris intake on hard floors is the clearest weakness, with cereal and other thick debris repeatedly pushed, missed, or requiring direct hose use.

Large hard-floor debris pickup was praised where tested or described, including grains of dirt and larger debris handled by the hard-floor brush.

Area rug handling is weak for thick small rugs, where suction can lift the rug and the release feature may not help enough.

Area rug handling was generally positive with the right head and suction adjustment, though long-pile rugs could require more effort.

Weight is a consistent drawback, with reviewers calling it heavy and potentially too much for children or older users to carry.

Weight was mostly a strength because the canister is light and portable, but one reviewer found it heavy for stairs.

Hose/reach feedback is positive but limited, with one lab review impressed by the reach of just over 33 feet.

Hose length drew mixed feedback, with some reviewers finding reach adequate and others wishing the hose were longer.

Cord length is praised because it supports multi-room cleaning and is called a favorite feature by one owner.

Cord length was mixed: some reviewers found the reach sufficient, while others complained about short 6.5m or 20-foot cords.

Small-space suitability is split: articulation helps tight spaces, but a canister layout can be problematic in a narrow hallway.

Small-space suitability was excellent, with reviewers recommending the compact body for apartments, cupboards, and homes with minimal storage.

Under-furniture cleaning is a strength thanks to the low-clearance head, articulating handle, and nearly flat cleaning position.

Under-furniture cleaning was mixed: low-profile or multi-pivot heads helped, while a chunky head could not fit under a sofa.

Attachment surface safety is supported by one reviewer using distance and airflow to clean delicate fabric without pulling on it.

Surface safety comments were positive, especially for hardwood and delicate floors when using appropriate brushes or non-marring wheels.

Pet-related evidence is very positive: reviewers say it handles pet hair and broader pet messes well, with one review explicitly recommending it for pet owners.

Pet suitability depended strongly on the configuration: Cat & Dog/TurboBrush versions drew praise, while non-pet versions were described as poor fits for pet hair.

Low-pile carpet pickup is excellent in the scored reviews, with near-perfect test results and praise for easy pickup.

Low-pile carpet performance was positive overall, especially with powered heads, though hard-floor-only heads were more limited.

Maintenance is generally light and straightforward, helped by washable filters and removable components.

Maintenance was mostly easy, with accessible filters and simple upkeep, but one reviewer found bag-change instructions unclear.

Filtration and dust containment receive positive but limited support through praise for the washable lifetime filter, hypoallergenic framing, and dirt-ejecting design.

Filtration and dust containment were repeatedly praised, especially sealed bags, clean exhaust, and odor-control filters on pet models.

High-pile carpet pickup is mostly good for smaller debris, but cereal remains a recurring limitation.

High-pile carpet performance depended on configuration: electric heads handled it well, while hard-floor models were not suited to higher pile.

Carpet hair pickup is excellent, with one lab result above 98% and an owner saying it handled dog hair flawlessly.

Carpet hair pickup was strong on pet-oriented or powered-head models, with reviewers praising TurboBrush and powerhead pet-hair removal.

Innovation evidence centers on the self-righting and hassle-reducing design, which reviewers frame as clever and efficient.

One reviewer highlighted Miele’s edge-channel design as unusually effective compared with what other manufacturers include.

Tool changes are repeatedly described as fast and simple, with parts snapping apart or into position with very little effort.

Tool and head changes were generally easy, with reviewers praising click-on fittings and simple head removal.

Overall opinion is strongly positive across most reviews, though the higher-level praise sits alongside repeated caveats about weight and large debris.

Overall opinion was highly favorable across hands-on reviews, with reviewers repeatedly calling the C2 worthwhile, effective, or impressive.

Above-floor cleaning is positive, with the extension arm praised for reaching vaulted ceilings and higher dust without difficulty.

Above-floor and upholstery cleaning drew praise for cars, sofas, cushions, dusting, tight spaces, and general furniture cleaning.

The dust bin is viewed positively for its debris-pushing design, larger usable capacity, and convenient 1.6L size.

Bag handling was mostly praised for cleanliness and sealing, but one reviewer criticized a flimsy dust flap and several noted bag-related tradeoffs.

Included tools are seen as useful, especially for moving between messes, stairs, and specialty cleaning tasks, though the evidence is stronger for usefulness than variety.

The tool set was viewed as useful and well made, though some smaller tools were described as merely adequate or limited.

Reviewers like the self-righting and anti-topple behavior, and one owner also found the vacuum easy to fit into a small closet.

Storage was one of the clearest strengths, with reviewers repeatedly calling the C2 compact, easy to tuck away, and suited to small cupboards or apartments.

Handling is generally strong, with praise for gliding, turning, following, and flat head movement, but canister drag and small hallways create a learning curve.

Maneuverability was broadly praised thanks to smooth tracking, swivel casters, and easy steering, though deep carpet sometimes required more tugging.

Cord management is a strength, with reviewers liking the retractable cord and describing it as effortless or a favorite feature.

Cord management was praised for automatic rewind and foot/one-touch operation.

Fine debris pickup on hard floors is consistently strong for sugar, kitty litter, flour, rice, and ordinary dust.

Hard-floor fine-dust pickup was very strong, with reviewers praising effortless cleaning of dust, flour, powder, and everyday dirt.

Versatility is a clear strength, with reviewers praising all-floor use, attachment swaps, hose-and-tool cleaning, and broad household-surface coverage.

Versatility was a major strength for mixed hard-floor and carpet homes, except where pet hair or heavy carpeting required a more specialized head.

Emptying is praised for pushing debris out, reducing mess, and allowing longer cleaning before trash-emptying becomes a concern.

Emptying and mess control were strong due to sealed bags and reduced dust clouds, though this assumes careful bag handling.

Crevice and corner pickup receives positive owner feedback, mainly because the vacuum’s power improved performance in corners and crevices.

Groove and crevice pickup on hard floors was excellent in the wood-floor crack test, where debris was removed without hesitation.

Runtime is a non-issue in the positive evidence because reviewers treat the corded design as letting users clean as long as needed.

Runtime was praised in corded terms: one reviewer valued having no battery-life worries.

Ownership-cost evidence is favorable because reviewers emphasize the washable lifetime filter and corded design that avoids battery replacement.

Ownership costs were the main value caveat, with repeated complaints that bags and filters add expense.

Edge and baseboard cleaning is only average to slightly above average, with one test noting it did not remove all edge debris.

Edge and baseboard pickup was a standout strength, with reviewers praising one-pass corner pickup and cleaning right up to skirting boards.

Stair-cleaning evidence is limited but positive, centered on the stair tool being easy to attach and push along stair surfaces.

Stair cleaning was mixed: the compact body and telescopic tube helped, but the turbohead size and weight made stairs harder in some reviews.

Comparative performance is very strong in the reviews, including better carpet dirt removal than typical vacuums and pet-hair performance comparable to top uprights.

Comparative performance sentiment was positive, with reviewers placing Miele among top vacuum brands and saying the compact C2 cleans like larger Mieles.

Noise feedback is limited but positive, with one reviewer surprised by how quiet the vacuum sounded during use.

Noise feedback was strongly positive overall, with multiple reviewers calling the C2 quiet or bearable even at higher settings.

Reviewers consistently praise the vacuum’s strong suction, describing it as potent, extremely powerful, and able to pull dirt, dust, and even carpet upward.

Reviewers consistently praised strong suction and airflow, with especially high marks for edge pickup, carpet power heads, and hard-floor cleaning.

Low-profile design is praised because the head can get under furniture more easily.

Low-profile feedback was split between a Parquet head reaching under low furniture and a chunky head failing to fit under a sofa.

The floorhead earns praise for self-adjustment and roller-speed control, but several reviews say the main head struggles with larger debris.

Floorhead design was generally strong, especially powered, AirTeQ, Parquet, and switching designs, though some heads felt bulky or heavy.

Build quality is strongly praised, with reviewers calling it top-notch and comparable to other well-built Dysons.

Design impressions are positive, with reviewers calling it sleek enough for a modern home and one of the coolest vacuums they had seen.

Design comments were positive where present, with reviewers calling the unit attractive or beautifully designed.

The handle trigger and suction controls help surface transitions, but one reviewer disliked needing to hold the trigger continuously.

Controls were mostly praised for variable suction and useful surface settings, though one reviewer initially found the dial unclear.

Value is mixed-positive: reviewers often say performance justifies the price, while still repeatedly noting that Dyson pricing is high.

Value sentiment was positive despite high prices, with reviewers calling sale pricing, under-$400 versions, or full-featured packages worthwhile.

Debris-prevention evidence is mixed: one lab review criticized larger debris pickup, while an owner said the vacuum rarely clogged.

One reviewer viewed the energy-saving setting positively, though energy efficiency was not a major review theme.

One reviewer found a hard-floor head sealed too strongly to the floor, improving contact but making it more tiring to use.

Hair-removal channel evidence is limited but positive, with the owner describing excess hair removal as easy.

Hard-floor hair pickup was praised in one pet-hair hard-floor test, where stray pet hair was removed effectively.

Kid-related evidence was limited but positive, tied to quiet operation around sleeping children and effectiveness in a household with young children.
