Compare Levoit Core 300-P vs Levoit P350-P

Most reviewers found the Core 300-P effective for everyday small-room purification, though one major review criticized its performance versus stronger competitors.

Most reviewers say the P350 noticeably improves room air, especially in bedrooms, pet rooms, and small living spaces. A few users were disappointed when the unit was undersized for the room or did not relieve their symptoms.

Filter costs are generally considered reasonable, helped by affordable genuine and generic filters, though replacements still add to annual cost.

Filter cost is the most common ownership-cost complaint. Some owners call filters pricey or say to budget for replacements, though others find them affordable or worth the odor reduction.

Noise opinions vary by speed: sleep and low are widely praised, while high speed is sometimes called loud or noisy.

Noise feedback is mostly positive at low and sleep settings, often described as quiet white noise. Complaints cluster around higher speeds, squeaks, or aging units that became louder over time.

Display and control readability are consistently praised as intuitive, clearly labeled, responsive, and easy to use.

Indicator-ring expectations are mixed because this model lacks the richer display features found on other Levoit units. The comments point more to missing readouts than poor readability.

True-HEPA sentiment is split, with some reviews treating the filter as a plus and others criticizing or questioning Levoit’s true-HEPA claims.

True HEPA messaging is mixed. One expert says Levoit no longer claims True HEPA on newer materials, while another still describes the filter as True HEPA and effective.

Pre-filter quality is mixed: some praise its particle capture, while others dislike that it is not removable or call it poorly made.

The pre-filter gets positive marks for catching larger contaminants such as dust, hair, fur, and dander. Experts describe it as improved, though it still needs regular vacuuming.

Reviewers like the pelleted or granular activated carbon for the price, but several say the carbon amount is too limited for heavy gases or odors.

Reviewers liked the stronger carbon stage for pet and household odors, with experts pointing to extra carbon and customers linking the pet-rated filter to cleaner-smelling air. The main caveat is that odor results depend on filter upkeep.

Auto mode scores poorly because reviewers repeatedly note that the standard Core 300-P lacks automatic air-quality-based fan adjustment.

Auto mode is missing, and reviewers treat that as one of the main feature tradeoffs. Buyers have to choose fan speeds manually instead of letting the purifier respond to air quality.

Filter-life evidence is mixed, with reviewers accepting six-to-eight-month replacement but noting more frequent replacement than annual norms.

Filter life is mixed: many users get about six months, but dusty or pet-heavy homes may need earlier changes. One reviewer said their filter did not make it a month, while another got years from HEPA filters with added carbon foam.

Filtration-stage feedback is positive overall, with reviewers generally liking the three-stage setup and its broad all-around performance.

Experts describe a competent three-stage system built around a pre-filter, particle/HEPA stage, and carbon layer. The filtration stack is treated as the core reason the unit works well for pets.

Filter availability is a major strength, with reviewers citing genuine choices, pet filters, and broad third-party availability.

Replacement filter availability is a plus for some buyers, especially because filters are easy to find on Amazon and arrive quickly. Availability was not a repeated problem.

Reliability is mostly positive across long-term and lab reviews, though one user reported an early squeaking issue that required support.

Reliability is mostly favorable, with several owners reporting years of trouble-free use. The negative side includes a foul odor within three months and an older unit developing bearing-like noise.

Value is generally strong because of low upfront price and good small-room performance, but some reviewers prefer newer models for long-term costs.

Value is mostly praised because the P350 delivers strong pet-odor and small-room performance at a reasonable price. The value case weakens for buyers comparing it with cheaper Core 300 options or paying frequent filter costs.

HEPA filtration receives a low score from one critical review that says the unit does not actually have a HEPA filter.

HEPA filtration is generally treated as a strength, especially for pet allergens and fine particles. One customer felt the included filter was not enough and recommended upgraded HEPA filters.

Energy efficiency is a weakness because reviewers say the older motor uses more power than newer Core 300S-style alternatives.

Expert testing describes the P350 as energy efficient for its class, especially compared with the Core 300. Power use is not a major customer complaint.

Power consumption is commonly criticized, especially relative to newer models and the purifier’s size/performance.

Experts measured modest power draw and described the unit as inexpensive to run. It is built for long operating hours without major energy complaints.

VOC evidence is mixed and mostly cautious: reviewers credit the carbon filter for some VOC help, but warn it is not enough for serious VOC loads.

VOC and gas reduction appears mainly through expert discussion of the carbon layer and one customer’s perfume/asthma experience. It is promising for smells and gases but not heavily tested by customers.

Odor control is generally praised for pets, kitchens, and mild smells, but reviewers caution that heavy odors and gases need more carbon.

Odor reduction is the standout strength, especially for litter boxes, dog smell, musty rooms, cooking odors, smoke drift, and RV smells. Many customers describe a dramatic before-and-after change.

Indicator and display lights are a strength, especially the lights-off function and filter-change reminder for bedroom use.

Indicator and display features are useful but imperfect. Users like being able to turn off lights at night, while others complain the filter reminder acts more like a timer than a true condition sensor.

CADR sentiment is mixed: some praise the price-to-CADR ratio, while others say newer or similar-size rivals outperform it.

Expert reviews view the CADR and fan power as strong for a compact purifier, especially in the under-230-square-foot range. It is not framed as a large-room machine.

Fan speed feedback is mixed: many like the simple options, but some consider three speeds limited compared with newer models.

The three manual speeds plus sleep mode give users enough control for everyday use. Reviewers like using higher speeds for quick cleaning and lower speeds for quieter background operation.

Room coverage is strong for bedrooms and small rooms but weak for whole-house or larger-area expectations.

Room coverage works best in bedrooms, offices, nurseries, and other small to medium spaces. Negative comments usually come from using it beyond its intended square footage.

Allergen evidence is mostly positive for pollen, dust, pets, and sinus comfort, with one skeptical review saying noticeable allergy relief may be hit or miss.

Allergy feedback is mostly enthusiastic, with many users reporting less sneezing, congestion, itchy eyes, or pet-allergy irritation. One negative customer review said allergy symptoms became worse, so relief is not guaranteed.

Real-time monitoring is a weakness because reviewers note the lack of a sensor or air-quality display on the standard model.

Real-time monitoring is absent, and reviewers clearly miss it. Buyers wanting live air-quality readings or automatic response should choose a smarter model.

Particle-removal evidence is mostly positive, with several tests reporting strong PM and particulate reductions, while one reviewer doubted its high-grade filtration.

Particle removal performs well in expert testing and customer filter checks. Reviews mention 94% particulate reduction, dirty used filters, and visible debris captured over time.

Scheduling is mixed: reviewers like the timer, but some wish it offered longer or more flexible schedules.

Timer controls are appreciated, but scheduling is limited. Users who want automatic daily on/off schedules or app-based routines see this as a clear miss.

Smoke evidence is mixed: some tests and home reports praise fast smoke clearing, while one reviewer says it is not suitable for cigarette smoke.

Smoke removal is supported by expert testing and a few customer experiences with wildfire or smoke drift. Cigarette smoke expectations should stay realistic, especially in active smoking spaces.

Portability is praised because the unit is compact, fairly light, and easy to move between rooms.

Portability is mostly good because the unit is compact and light enough to move between rooms. The lack of a handle keeps it from being effortless for everyone.

Pet-related evidence is favorable, with reviewers citing pet allergy filters, dog hair, pet rooms, and noticeable air improvement around pets.

Pet dander and fur reduction are major reasons people buy this model, and most pet owners report cleaner air, fewer symptoms, and less visible hair or dander. One negative review said it pushed dog hair and dust around.

Child lock feedback is positive, especially for homes with young children or pets that might press controls.

The pet lock is appreciated by owners with pets or children, but it is not foolproof for every home. One cat owner said their kittens still managed to interfere with the controls.

Maintenance is mostly praised as easy, especially filter replacement, though one reviewer disliked the base/filter design.

Maintenance is generally considered simple: wipe the grilles, vacuum the filter exterior, and replace filters when needed. Several customers describe filter cleaning or replacement as easy.

Air-change evidence is limited but positive from one reviewer who praised a fast full-room cycle for a 300-square-foot room.

Experts consistently describe the P350 as quick for its intended room size, with around five air changes per hour or a 12-minute exchange cycle. This supports small-room use more than whole-home cleaning.

Sleep mode is one of the strongest features, repeatedly described as nearly silent, whisper quiet, or bedroom-friendly.

Sleep mode is praised for quiet nighttime operation and dimmer lights. Several owners use it in bedrooms or move the unit there for sleep.

Pollen removal evidence is positive but limited, mostly tied to allergy-focused use and broad particle-removal claims.

Pollen comments are fewer than pet and dust comments, but they are positive. Customers mention relief on pollen days and less pollen settling in a nursery.

Ozone-free operation has limited but positive evidence from one reviewer who valued its purely mechanical filtration.

Ozone-free operation is viewed positively by pet owners and headache-sensitive users. Reviewers liked that it avoids ozone or ionizer features while still improving air quality.

Dust removal is consistently praised in home use, with reviewers seeing reduced buildup, captured dust, and cleaner pet-heavy rooms.

Dust control is one of the strongest customer themes, with many owners reporting less surface dust, cleaner filters, and even cleaner HVAC filters. One negative review said it seemed to push dust and hair around instead of filtering it.

App connectivity scores low because the standard Core 300-P lacks app support, Wi-Fi, and remote control, unlike the 300S.

App control is a clear weakness. Reviewers repeatedly point out that the P350 lacks app connectivity, scheduling through an app, and air quality readouts.

Smart features are a consistent weakness; reviewers repeatedly describe the Core 300-P as basic or outdated without sensors, app control, or automation.

Smart features are minimal, and experts repeatedly call that out. There is no app, Wi-Fi, auto mode, or real-time air-quality feedback.

Build quality is mixed, with one long-term reviewer praising solidity and another criticizing the base/filter design.

Build quality is generally viewed as solid, with praise for durable plastic, good fit and finish, and a well-made feel. One negative review felt the unit operated more cheaply than its price suggested.

Durability evidence is strong but limited, with long-term reviews saying performance and motor behavior held up over years.

Durability comments are positive but sparse, including one short customer review that grouped durability with ease of use and fit. Longer-term reliability is better represented under reliability.

Size and footprint are praised as compact and unobtrusive, though coverage limitations remain tied to its small form.

The size is a major selling point for bedrooms and smaller rooms, with many owners calling it compact, nightstand-friendly, and easy to place. It is not tiny, and larger rooms need a bigger model.

Design is mostly praised as sleek, modern, compact, unobtrusive, and décor-friendly.

The P350’s gray cylindrical look is broadly liked, with reviewers calling it clean, modern, attractive, and easy to place visually. It avoids the bulky look some users disliked in other purifiers.

The one expert comment on support was favorable, describing negative service feedback as rare and highlighting easy registration for extended warranty coverage.

Packaging and arrival condition receive a positive nod from a customer who felt the product was protected and arrived with care. There was no recurring complaint about damaged delivery.

Filter replacement is easy once the user understands the bottom-access design, but setup mistakes are possible if the filter remains wrapped or is inserted incorrectly. Customers praised easy swaps after the initial learning curve.

Warranty coverage is basic but can improve with registration. Reviewers mention the one-year warranty and a second year available after registering.

Owners find the purifier easy to set up, operate, clean, and live with. The simple buttons and quick unboxing process come up repeatedly in positive reviews.

Airflow gets credit for moving and circulating a lot of air quickly, and some users enjoy the upward flow. One expert noted that the diffuse top outlet is not meant to create a strong breeze.

Many owners describe easier breathing, fewer asthma or sinus issues, less congestion, and cleaner-feeling air after running the purifier. The strongest praise comes from pet-allergy and respiratory-irritant situations.

Controls are usually described as clear, simple, and easy to use. Customers especially liked the touch controls and straightforward top-panel layout.

Setup documentation is mostly seen as clear enough, with customers saying instructions were easy to understand. The main caution is that the internal filter plastic can still be missed during setup.

Most owners do not report chemical or strange smells, and a few specifically praise the lack of odor from the unit. A small number had the opposite experience, including a foul smell after a few months.

Reviewers who mention ionization treat its absence as a plus, especially around pets and ozone concerns. Experts also describe the filtration system as ozone-free without ionizer or UV-C stages.

Mold evidence is negative and limited, with one reviewer advising against this model for significant mold problems.

Overall satisfaction is very high, with many customers buying additional units or saying they love the purifier. The few unhappy owners cite noise, weak allergy results, or poor value after a defect.

PM2.5 results are strong in expert testing, with one review measuring a 94% PM2.5 improvement. The limitation is that the purifier itself does not provide PM2.5 readouts.

Remote control is not included, and one expert said the purifier would be more convenient with it. The lack of remote control reinforces the basic-controls tradeoff.

A couple of users noticed a cooling or air-mixing effect from the upward airflow. This is a side benefit rather than a dedicated temperature feature.

Virus confidence is limited. One customer bought it with virus concerns in mind, while another wished it handled smaller virus-sized particles better.

Handle design is a real drawback for people who move the unit often. Several comments say it is awkward to carry because there is no handle or grip.

Sleep benefits are a repeated customer theme, mostly from cleaner breathing and gentle white noise. Several owners said they woke with less congestion or slept noticeably better.

Listing accuracy is a mixed spot. Some customers say the purifier matched the description, while others were frustrated by missing placement guidance or felt the pet version was too similar to cheaper Core 300 models.

Washability is a minor frustration, with one customer wishing the filters could be washable. No review presents a washable pre-filter as a product strength.
