Compare Eufy E340 Floodlight Camera vs Blink Mini 2K+

IFTTT and broader automation compatibility were weak, with reviewers calling out absent IFTTT and limited third-party triggers.

Alexa routines and IFTTT-style automation are useful strengths, with one test successfully turning a TP-Link bulb red when motion was detected.

Continuous recording was a major strength because the hardwired E340 can record around the clock when storage is available.

The Mini 2K+ does not provide continuous recording, even while plugged in. Motion clips and manually saved live views do not fully replace an always-on recording mode for surveillance-heavy use.

Local storage was one of the product’s strongest value points, especially microSD and HomeBase options that avoid monthly fees.

Local recording is possible through a separately purchased Sync Module 2 and USB drive, giving a subscription-free route. The extra hardware costs more and does not preserve every type of live-view recording.

Connectivity was mostly praised, with reviewers reporting strong range, quick network connection, and solid Wi-Fi performance.

The camera connects directly over Wi-Fi and does not need a hub for basic operation. Connectivity is straightforward once configured, but the wireless choice is limited to 2.4GHz.

Night vision was repeatedly praised, both in infrared and color modes, with several reviewers calling it crisp or excellent.

The spotlight can produce useful color night vision, and infrared mode can capture adequate scenes in darkness. Results vary, with one test calling infrared footage grainy and dim and another finding it crisp.

Dual-stream or dual-view capability was useful to some reviewers, but one found the compressed dual-view mode reduced image quality.

The Arc can show two cameras as a stitched live view, but recordings remain separate rather than becoming one seamless dual-stream file. That limits the benefit for reviewing captured events.

Coverage was a major strength, with reviewers praising the wide property view, pan coverage, and ability to cover larger spaces.

The single camera's 138-degree view is useful but slightly narrower than the predecessor's. The optional Arc arrangement expands live coverage to a wide 180-degree view.

Recording start-time lag was not a dominant complaint, but one source reported occasional delays between detection and recording.

Live view loads decently quickly and alerts generally arrive fast, so the camera can support quick responses. The benefit is offset by re-trigger and clip-length limits during longer activity.

Speaker and siren output was loud enough for deterrence, but audio quality was described as limited rather than exceptional.

The built-in siren is loud enough to be heard throughout a one-story house and was measured at 84.8dBA in another test. Its deterrent value is stronger than its automation options.

Mounting flexibility was useful, including wall or ceiling placement and a workaround plug-in installation, though hardwiring still limits placement.

The camera can rest on a tabletop or move between bottom and rear mounting positions, with broad adjustment for walls, ceilings, and temporary placement. Reviewers consistently find the system unusually flexible.

Weather resistance was generally adequate, but one source advised covered mounting to reduce long-term moisture risk.

The IP65-rated camera itself can handle outdoor use, but every outdoor recommendation comes with a separate weather-resistant power-adapter requirement. Outdoor placement therefore costs more and needs careful power planning.

Motion zones were seen as easy and effective, helping reduce irrelevant triggers through app-based zone and sensitivity controls.

Motion zones are easy to adjust and the screenshot-based editor helps show what will be excluded. The system can still require narrower zones to avoid false alarms, and zones are not independently tuned for each motion type.

Frame rate was a recurring weakness because 15 fps can blur or chop fast-moving subjects.

The listed frame rate is lower than the prior model on paper, though one reviewer found downloaded clips showing 30fps in actual use. That makes the change feel more mixed than clearly harmful.

HomeKit integration was a consistent weakness because the E340 lacks Apple HomeKit support.

HomeKit support is a clear gap. Reviewers specifically note that the camera does not work with Apple HomeKit, limiting its fit for Apple-centered smart homes.

Zoom clarity was generally strong, especially for hybrid and digital zoom, though one reviewer noticed some blur with 3x optical zoom.

The 2K sensor makes 4x digital zoom meaningfully more usable than on the 1080p model. Reviewers could retain detail in faces and clothing with noticeably less degradation.

Video detail was one of the strongest areas, with reviewers repeatedly praising sharp 3K footage and detailed zoomed views.

2K video is the product's most consistent strength, with crisp, detailed daylight footage and a meaningful improvement over 1080p. Some reviewers still saw motion blur, grain, or softer detail at distance and in darkness.

Detection and tracking features were widely praised, though a few reviews noted false positives or default settings needing adjustment.

Person and vehicle detection generally works accurately when enabled, with reviewers reporting correctly identified motion and useful AI descriptions. Those smarter features are commonly restricted to a paid plan.

Detection and detail range were strong in test evidence, including reliable person detection and clear distant yard coverage.

One field test found person detection working at roughly 40 feet. That is useful for driveways and yards, though the test also highlights that results depend on sensitivity and setup.

Pan-and-tilt range was praised as a major advantage, with reviewers valuing the broad mechanical coverage and flexible aiming.

The stand and ball joint provide unusually broad positioning, with reviewers describing near-any-angle framing and a 360-degree camera rotation. The mount covers most placements, though tight wall-parallel angles remain difficult.

Spotlight features were flexible and well-liked, including adjustable brightness, schedules, and motion-activated lighting.

The built-in spotlight is a meaningful upgrade for color night viewing and can illuminate a hallway or yard. It is especially useful for indoor or plug-in outdoor placements where extra power is available.

Dual-band Wi-Fi performance was praised in hands-on use, including solid connectivity and fast 5 GHz results.

The camera's 2.4GHz-only Wi-Fi was not a major issue in one test, but it gives up the flexibility of a dual-band connection and can matter in congested or 5GHz-focused homes.

Low-light performance was praised for clear detail, especially when the floodlights enabled color night footage.

Low-light results are inconsistent but often usable: some reviewers found dusk and spotlight footage strong, while others saw grain, dim infrared detail, blur, or weak color without illumination.

False-alert performance was mixed but positive overall: several reviewers praised filtering, while others saw cats, chairs, or trees misidentified.

Activity zones can reduce unwanted alerts, but two reviewers had to shrink their zones to stop false alarms. The filtering works with tuning rather than being effortless out of the box.

Color reproduction received strong praise, with reviewers noting vivid, realistic hues and unusually faithful color capture.

Daylight color is usually bright and saturated, while low-light color is more dependent on the spotlight and can look less vivid. The camera's best color results come with additional illumination.

Floodlight brightness was repeatedly praised as powerful and useful, though one reviewer warned that poor aiming can wash out night details.

The small spotlight is surprisingly bright, illuminating hallways, yards, and a garage well enough for color footage. One reviewer found the brightness increase difficult to distinguish from the prior model by eye.

Two-way audio was generally clear enough for visitors and conversations, though it was not framed as premium audio.

Two-way audio is generally clearer than earlier Blink models, with reviewers praising intelligibility and strong demo results. Noise cancellation helps voices stand out in busy surroundings.

Streaming reliability was mixed, with some quick live feeds but occasional slow loading or bandwidth-related playback issues.

Live viewing is generally responsive, and Alexa streaming to an Echo Show worked faultlessly in one test. Initial setup reliability is more variable than day-to-day viewing.

Event recording reliability benefited from hardwired power, out-of-view detection, and continuous recording that reduce missed events.

Motion events and alerts are usually reliable and quick, but the fixed re-trigger delay can leave parts of an event unrecorded. The absence of continuous capture is the larger limitation.

Reviewers strongly valued the optional cloud model because core features and storage can be used without recurring subscription fees.

Blink's cloud fees are described as lower than several competitors, and the plans add storage and AI features. The value is weakened by the fact that recorded video and smarter detection are unavailable without paying.

Price value was strong because reviewers saw high performance, no fees, and unusually broad features for the price.

The Mini 2K+ is widely viewed as affordable, especially for a 2K camera and multi-camera bundles. The value becomes less compelling after adding subscriptions, outdoor power, or local-storage hardware.

Installation was usually considered manageable with existing wiring, but the hardwired setup may require an electrician.

Setup is usually quick and intuitive, and the camera can sit on a surface or be screwed to a wall or ceiling. The app's connection failures and stiff mounting hardware add occasional friction.

Size and footprint were a drawback for some reviewers because the camera is large and not especially elegant.

The camera is exceptionally small, lightweight, and unobtrusive, fitting easily on a shelf or in a compact multi-camera setup. Its footprint is one of the clearest strengths across the reviews.

Build quality was viewed as solid to excellent, though one reviewer felt the plastic body was less rugged and elegant than a rival.

Despite its low price, the camera feels well-built and polished. The weighted stand and robust Arc frame add confidence, although individual stand hardware can be awkward to release.

The dual-camera design was one of the clearest strengths, giving reviewers both broad context and telephoto detail.

The Arc mount creates a compact, wide two-camera view and can be impressive when motion is limited. Its usefulness is strongest in live view and for shoppers already committed to Blink.

The mobile app experience was mostly stable and easy to manage, though one review mentioned minor firmware or connectivity glitches.

The app is clean and easy to navigate for some users, but setup connection failures, forgotten Wi-Fi credentials, busy-system messages, and clunky Arc controls make reliability uneven.

Smart-home integration was mixed: Alexa and Google worked, but Apple, Matter, IFTTT, and deeper controls were missing.

Alexa integration is reliable for streaming and announcements, but the platform coverage is narrow. Google Home and Apple HomeKit are specifically excluded, so the ecosystem choice matters.

Reviewers consistently liked the Eufy app’s depth and usability, calling it robust, practical, intuitive, and full of useful controls.

The app exposes useful controls for motion, lighting, audio, privacy, and video settings, and some reviewers find it thoughtfully designed. Others call it basic or criticize awkward controls such as separate spotlight buttons.

Notification management was adjustable and useful, but false-alert silencing and short delays made it somewhat mixed.

Notification snoozing is available, but one reviewer criticizes the lack of richer notification behavior. Managing alerts is functional rather than especially polished.

Smart accessory compatibility worked well for Alexa and Google actions, including one tested Alexa routine.

The camera works well as a Blink doorbell chime and can trigger compatible smart-home accessories through Alexa or automation routines. That value is strongest for households already using Blink or Amazon devices.

Notifications were often fast or instant, though one reviewer measured a few-second delay in real use.

Motion notifications are repeatedly described as quick or very quick, often fast enough to respond to someone at the camera. One test measured delivery in under a minute.

Cross-camera tracking through HomeBase was considered useful but still immature, with beta-like errors noted.

Blink Moments can string activity from multiple cameras into one clip, which is useful inside a Blink system. The Arc setup is less complete because its recorded views remain separate.

Battery power flexibility was weak because the E340 is hardwired and not suited to buyers wanting a battery camera.

This is a mains-powered camera with no battery backup. Reviewers see the always-on power as stable, but the lack of battery makes placement less flexible and requires a suitable outlet.

Cable handling and installation support were mostly helpful, especially hidden cabling and the hook, but one reviewer questioned the wire-block approach.

The hub is optional for core use, but reviewers noted HomeBase adds valuable storage and AI while raising initial cost.

Included accessories helped setup, with reviewers appreciating hardware, the installation hook, and everything needed for mounting.

Daylight footage showed virtually no visible distortion in one test, supporting a clean, natural-looking image despite the wide view.

Microphone pickup was good enough for clear two-way conversation in hands-on use.

On-device and subscription-free features were a major selling point, especially free AI-related controls and local processing options.

On-device AI was generally effective for detection and tracking, especially with HomeBase, though false positives still occurred.

Overall impressions are favorable for a low-cost camera: reviewers see sharp video, practical mounting, and useful alerts. Satisfaction falls when subscriptions, app friction, limited recording, or weak night detail matter more.

Privacy zones were presented as useful and straightforward for blurring areas like neighboring windows.

PTZ responsiveness and tracking were mostly smooth and effective, with one review noting occasional lag in manual controls.

The camera is inexpensive to buy, but recorded footage, AI detection, and other useful features are repeatedly tied to a subscription or extra Sync Module. That makes the hardware a better fit for shoppers already comfortable with Blink's ecosystem costs.

System scalability was a strength for Eufy users, especially with HomeBase storage and multi-camera expansion.

The hardwired design was a tradeoff: it limits flexibility but supports reliable power, stronger lighting, and continuous recording.

Customer support and warranty handling surfaced as a weakness in user-feedback reporting, especially around post-warranty issues.

ONVIF support was called out as absent, making cross-manufacturer integration weaker.

The camera's tiny rounded body is repeatedly described as unobtrusive, modern, and easy to blend into a room. Its compact design also makes it practical to move between locations.

Durability impressions were positive overall, with improved toughness and IP65-related confidence, though not every reviewer stress-tested it.

Noise cancellation is one of the more convincing upgrades: reviewers report that speech is easier to hear in traffic or other noisy surroundings, and one demo called the audio better than many competing cameras.

Optical zoom performance was praised for detailed telephoto views and useful long-distance detail.
